Conference 2014 City Chambers Reception and Glasgow Slave History Walk

We are delighted to announce that on July 1st, in advance of the conference, all delegates of the SCS conference are invited to join us for a free walking tour exploring Glasgow’s Caribbean connections, led by Stephen Mullen, followed by a wine reception at Glasgow City Chambers, hosted by the Lord Provost.

WALKING TOUR Taking us through the heart of Glasgow’s merchant city, this tour explores the city’s historic connections with slavery and the Caribbean. Time: 5:30-6.45, meeting at City Halls, Candlerigg entrance (G1 1NQ)

WINE RECEPTION The tour will be followed by a wine reception in Glasgow’s magnificent City Chambers. The reception begins at 7pm. Glasgow City Chambers is located in George Square (G2 1DU).
