Papers are welcomed from all disciplines and can address the themes outlined below.<\/p>\n<p>We also welcome abstracts for papers that fall outside this list of topics, and we particularly welcome proposals for complete panels, which should consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 presenters.<\/p>\n<p>Those selected for the conference will be invited to give a 20 minute presentation. Abstracts should be submitted along with a short bio of no more than 150 words by <strong>11th January 2016<\/strong>. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.<\/p>\n<p>See below for Provisional Themes, Abstract Submission, and Bursaries.\u00a0 Provisional themes emerged from the AGM and committee meeting and are suggestions: relevant papers not addressing these themes are also welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROVISIONAL THEMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">200th Anniversary 1816 Rebellion<br \/>\nBarbados and Guyana Independence<br \/>\nPolitics and Production of Knowledge<br \/>\nArchives<br \/>\nLanguage and Translation in the Caribbean and Beyond<br \/>\nLGBTQ Sexualities in the Caribbean<br \/>\nFilm, Broadcast and Media<br \/>\nVisual and Performance Art<br \/>\nIndentured Communities<br \/>\nNatural Sciences<br \/>\nMigration and the Environment<br \/>\n1966: New Beacon Books and the Caribbean Arts Movement<br \/>\nMaterialities, publication and manuscripts in Caribbean literature<\/p>\n<p>We particularly welcome papers that deal with Cuba, Haiti, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Surinam and the countries of the Caribbean rim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABSTRACT SUBMISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Submit your paper <a href=\"https:\/\/gellius.net\/paper_submit.php?course_run_id=2667\" target=\"_blank\">here&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>BURSARIES<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Society will provide a limited number of bursaries for (a) postgraduate students, and (b) postgraduates or scholars based in the Caribbean, to assist with registration costs. Please indicate when submitting the abstract whether you wish to be considered for a bursary. Please note that travel costs cannot be funded.
