{"id":398,"date":"2021-05-15T08:15:41","date_gmt":"2021-05-15T07:15:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/community-languages.org.uk\/waltham-forest-trades-council\/?p=398"},"modified":"2021-05-15T08:15:41","modified_gmt":"2021-05-15T07:15:41","slug":"support-for-dpac20more4all-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/community-languages.org.uk\/waltham-forest-trades-council\/?p=398","title":{"rendered":"Support for DPAC#20More4All Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-399\" src=\"http:\/\/community-languages.org.uk\/waltham-forest-trades-council\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/dpac.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/community-languages.org.uk\/waltham-forest-trades-council\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/dpac.jpg 300w, https:\/\/community-languages.org.uk\/waltham-forest-trades-council\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/dpac-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Waltham Forest Trades Council notes that there has been a lack of awareness raised in mainstream media of legacy claimants who have not received any additional support during the Coronavirus pandemic.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">This has led to a widespread issue in that the public have, as a consequence, not been informed of 2.5 million legacy claimants suffering increased hardship throughout this period.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">This trades council resolves to<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Pledge our support for the DPAC #20More4All Campaign by sending a message of support to DPAC and posting it on our trades council social media pages.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ensure any of our future campaigning by or around the \u00a320 a week uplift is inclusive of those on legacy benefits, refering to #20More4All.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Invite a DPAC speaker to our meeting.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Write to our MP and ask that they are supportive of the #20More4All campaign going forwards.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>To Stella Creasey MP<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0John Cryer MP<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Iain Duncan Smith Mp<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Dear MPs in Waltham Forest<\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>We are writing to you to ask that you give wholehearted support to the campaign of DPAC to fight for the \u00a320 uplift granted to Universal\u00a0Credit claimants <b>so that this \u00a320 is also applied to those still on legacy benefits particularly those who are disabled.\u00a0<\/b><\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>We urge you to contact DPAC to let them know of your\u00a0support, and offer ways of highlighting the issue in parliament.<\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>We understand that the\u00a0prime minister once quipped that he couldn&#8217;t live\u00a0on less than \u00a31million.\u00a0 No wonder he doesn&#8217;t understand what it is to live on a low income.<\/em><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>We do not believe that lack of money in the treasury coffers is a good reason to withhold\u00a0this much needed uplift.
