The Stuart Hall Project

Stuart HallOn June 30th at 7:30pm, there will be a screening of the film The Stuart Hall Project at the Drum, organised as a fundraiser for SCS

The film tells the story of his life and influence, through the extensive archival imagery and a personal Miles Davis soundtrack matching the agility of Hall’s intellect. It’s an intimate play with memory, identity and scholarly impulse traversing the changing historical landscape of the second half of the 20th century.

A panel discussion will follow the film, featuring Pat Noxolo (SCS), Kehinde Andrews (New Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies), and Marlene Smith (The Blk Art Group).

Members of the public are welcome, as well as those attending the Society for Caribbean Studies Annual Conference, 1-3 July
