Each year, the Society for Caribbean Studies is delighted to host a postgraduate conference to support the development of new researchers within Caribbean Studies. Since 2020, the postgraduate conference alternates with the main conference between in-person and online.
The postgraduate conference is free to attend. It builds on the Society’s strong tradition of encouraging new research and building a community among postgraduates who are often dispersed across departments and universities. This event hopes to offer delegates an opportunity to meet with others who share their interests and to discuss their work, fostering ties that will endure throughout their studies.
Feedback from previous attendees of the conference is that it provided them the opportunity to present their work in a collaborative and supportive environment. We always intend for this to be an opportunity for delegates to share and receive feedback on their work in a friendly and informal setting. For many delegates, this is their first conference and offers a great opportunity to prepare to present at the main conference in July.
All members of the Society are welcome to attend and we encourage as many as possible to come to support our postgraduate members.
The CFP for the 2026 conference, which will be held at the University of Cardiff, is now live.
