The 2013 conference of the Society was held at the University of Warwick, 3-5 July. The opening address of the conference was given by Professor Neil Lazarus of Warwick University. A renowned scholar of postcolonial studies and world literature, Professor Lazarus reflected on the Caribbean from the perspective of new thinking on uneven development and the theorisation of world literature. The Bridget Jones Award presentation was given by Surinamese visual artist Kit Ling Tjon Pian Gi.
